Project Statement

This project involved creating two Public Service Announcement posters and four advertisements. The posters are a series advocating for the same cause, and the advertisements are based on the two posters. The posters and advertisements contain a fact, a Call to Action, and imagery. The imagery can be created using photographs or illustrations made in Adobe Illustrator. The advertisements are in four different formats: a color print ad, a black and white print ad, a social media ad, and a web ad. Sophie Lesko did her project about forest fire prevention. She created two designs about how fireworks and campfires can cause wildfires.
The advertisements included the same imagery as the posters to keep them connected to the rest of the series. For the print ads, Sophie used sizing for "National Geographic" magazine because her target audience is people who spend time outdoors. The full-page color ad uses the campfire design because camping is more prevalent to this older audience than fireworks. The black and white ad uses the firework design because it needs less emphasis for this audience. For the social media ad, Sophie made an Instagram ad because it has a wide variety of users and, thus, a wider audience. She used the firework design for this ad because it is more prevalent in the younger social media audience. The campfire design is used for the web ad because the audience on the web is the most diverse, and camping applies to this broader audience.
